It looks like my sarcasm worked. Now maybe some you guys will get out there and do some PREVENTATIVE maintenance, before you HAVE TO DO corrective maintenance instead. When you spend $20K,$30K or even $40K for a truck why would you nickle and dime yourself into a repair shop because you didn't change your fluids. Maybe some of you guys didn't see that commercial on TV where the mechanic is standing there with the shop towel in his hand and a **** eatin grin on his face and says "Pay me now or pay me later". Fluids and filters are cheap. Engines and transmissions are not. If you think a fluid or belt or hose needs to be changed just change it and be done with it. It's a very cheap insurance policy.

It won't be preventative maintenance anymore, it will be corrective. While your at it don't change your brake fluid, power steering fluid or rear end fluid and don't change your serpentine belt either. That's a real waste of time. BTW, silverado owners manual says <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" /> change tranny fluid every 50,000 for extreme driving conditions and every 100,000 for normal driving. some people like to put their mind at ease by changing it sooner. very understandable.
