Exclamation exhuast on 4.8

ok- first off i have a 2000 4.8 bone stock rcsb

i recently got flowmaster 50 ser and cut the cats adn dumped the exhaust.. sounded horrible ( loud poping noise and i lost back pressure)..

now i have got flowmaster 40 sers still in box and about to get pacesetter long tubes and new y pipe...

now when i put everything on and dump the cats am i gonig to get the anoyying poping sound again?

here are a couple of videos that i have found adn i know that they might not be 4.8's or stock but are what i want my truck to sound like but need help on what to do..

what i dont like- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVAK4r0Vp-Ehere is

what i do like- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sxa_...eature=related

now i had a hard time finding what i am really looking for in sound and that somewhat sounds alright to me.. also. what about true duels? iv heard i cant because i would loose back pressure. nad what about a cam. what size cam would be good for my truck if im looking to get hp and sound without it being to radical? well thanks for reading adn sorry i typed so much.

I think the popping your refering to during decel is excess fuel igniting as its exiting the motor during the exhaust stroke. That can be taken care of with proper tuning.

I've leave the cam advice to the truck guys, i'm a LSx car person. However for a cam your going to need the supporting mods such as headers, stall, tune ect to make it effective.

althought they look like flows on theyre i have th esame setup .dynomax straight throughs dont get em confused ,look in the box sometimes they are in an exact box as theyre patented s series ,use them with an x for backpressure and the pace setters, and true duals .id you dont use an x use high flow cats for some back pressure i know ive done it all three ways.the worst way was no x and just muffs with p/s .use an x or high flow cats ,forced ind helps the sound 2 .lol.if u want go over to ls1 trucks ,look up my threads and listen to mine ,i only started 1 thread with my video of exhaust ,the rest are all questions about exhaust, skip em go too the sound.good luck hope u like and can use info provided.

you lose a ton of lowend with pacesetter LT's on the 4.8, their just too big of a header for the motor. You'll gain a shitload of topend if you go that high.

Only reason i have em still is my truck see's 4000+ on every shift. I'd go with thorley's if i were you and wanted better lowend numbers.

As far as cams go...if you don't want lost driveability, look into a CC 212/220 or there about.

I'm runnin a Vinci asp-kicker and love it, a little more noticeable chop but makes great power at the 4500-6500rpm range and its not a rediculously huge cam.

I'm just waiting for the weather to get better and make a trip to the dyno.
