with new motor and long tubes, I was considering a custom 3" y-pipe and custom 3-4" exhaust after the y and out the back...
my current 3" MagnaFlow Stainless Cat-Back is still in excellent shape even though its 5 years old...
I was thinking as an alternative to the above mentioned exhaust, to keep the one I have and just do the custom y-pipe but add a manual cut-out for the track...
I've just never been sold on duals producing the most power being a given...
thoughts?
thanks!

I've never been a big fan of duals, I think they give you great sound, and somewhat decent performance depending upon the application. But I would stick with single out after the Y, it seems to hold the best over-all for performance!

Al, when I had my vortech it made the best power with Long tubes, no cats, magnaflows and dual 3" mandrel bent pipes. I never used a cutout. If you use a cutout i would say use whatever exhaust you like; sound ,appearance wise and open the cutout when you want to go ***** out
.
For a good deep sound I'm really liking the Dynomax race magnum again. I've installed a few lately and they really sound good. They used to be my go to muffler, but I got stuck on the magnaflow bandwagon. The 6" round ones give a very good tone and typically don't have the little bit of rasp you can get with the oval ones.
