Default Exhaust setup question

I was thinking about exhaust setups for my truck and was thinking of doing up a similiar system to what the cars run. (Y-pipe going to single intermediate into one muffler)

I was thinking of using 3.5" pipe to do this since it has roughly the same area as dual 2.5" pipes.

It would be alot lighter than running true duals(two mufflers and twice as much pipe).

Does anyone make a highflow 3.5" cat?

I could also run dumps in the y-pipe before the cats for the track.

I think this would be the ultimate lightweight, highflowing exhaust setup for a big motor.

What do you think?

John

Thanks for the bolts. I hope they don't smell like rotten feet when I get'em.

Oh yeah, I think I'm just going to do the y-pipe up with 3" pipe and transition to 3.5" where they merge. Then run through a muffler to a turndown in front of the rear tire.

What would be nice would be to get somebodys 3" before the muffler pipes off a 6.0L. Why don't you take yours off and throw them in with the bolts.
