Default Exhaust questions and suggestions?

I have a 01 extended cab silverado with a 6.0 swap. It has a cam and 241 heads. Full length headers, no cats, then I cut stock muffler out and welded in a magnaflow. Well the stick too that tuned out behind the passenger tire was bent down after my dad borrowed the truck and backed into something so I cut it just before it turned out a long time ago when it had the 4.8 in it. Now after installing the 6.0 it just isnt right. It sounds great at cruisin and wide open but at idle it's not what i want. It's choppy and sounds good right at the rigt rear tire but back a few feet away and t doesn't sound good or in front in the rear tire it's sound isn't what it should be. Could this be because it had not tip exiting the body? Or becaus it stock piping is 2.5"? Or does it need an x pipe or maybe duals ??? I've heard trucks like mine sound great at idle 10 plus feet away but not mine!?!? Help with ideas please?

You could definitely run larger diameter tubing. As a reference, we use 3.50" in our kits for the 6.0L. Also, extending your tailpipe after the muffler will help with sound control.

I agree with using 3.50 or 4.00 muffler exhaust, if single exhaust, diameter depending on mods.

I have a used Magnaflow 4 inch, 30 inch case...and some mandrel 45 degree bends welded that go over the axle, and even a Dynatech 3.5 muffler that can be used in addition to nicely to quiet down some.

I can text you pics so you can evaluate. Reasonably priced.

GOD Bless,
