Default Exhaust question...will it help or not

I have true duals with a x pipe and dual 16in long dynomax bullets 3 in. I love the way they sound but something a little quiter would'nt hurt so my question is.......

My friend is welling to swap for free he has a 2v gt with 2.5 in exhaust and wants my 3 in dynomax for his 2.5 slp lm2 but i know the muffler shop can make them fit but would it hurt my performance any????????????being that its a 3in piping all the way thru or is the inside of the slp 3 in and only the outside 2.5 inch

HERE IT SAYS ITS A 2.5 ID/OD BUT 4.5IN BODY SO SHOULD IT WORK IF THEY OPEN THE INLET AND OUTLETS TO 3 IN

honestly, i think the loudmouths would be louder than your dynomax mufflers but i could be wrong. as far as going from a muffler with 3" in/out to one with 2.5" in/out you arent hurting anything, if anything you might actually be doing so good by adding a little back pressure back into the system. too big of an exhaust can hurt torque. i have a dual 2.5" in/out 18" magnaflow on my truck now and it sounds good, just too quiet for my taste...i like my **** to be loud, haha. id be willing to sell it pretty cheap if youre interested.
