Default exhaust note

this maybe a dumb question, but as in regards to exhaust note.

does the style of the head port ( cath vs rect ) change the note of the exhaust? for instance, vettes sound so much better and smoother than our trucks do. is that because of the head port style, piston etc?

just wondering if L92 swap would make the truck sound more like a vette or not.

and no im not saying im going to swap them just to make my truck so different, im just curious.

No. Things that do affect sound are compression, exhaust valve opening timing, exhaust manifold design, rpm. Length and diameter of exhaust system. I'm sure there is more.

Oh, yeah: the budget of GM to design and test mufflers.
