Default Exhaust Manifold Stud

Whats up guys. I have an 05' Silverado with the 5.3 and when I was removing my y-pipe i rounded off a nut on one of the studs on the drivers side exhaust manifold. Well I got it off, but now I need to remove the stud from the manifold. Which way does the stud come out? Towards the y-pipe or towards the motor? Thanks for any help.
