Default Which exhaust is louder?

When it comes to exhaust i don't know really much so i need some advice. I want to quiet down my exhaust a bit but i the same process make it flow better. My current setup consist of: 1 3/4 lt headers, dual 2.5" piping to x-pipe, and again 2.5" dual all the way to the muffler, which is a flowmaster but i'm not sure of the size, and 3" after the muffler to the back. Now lets say i would use 2 mufflers(same size as the current one) and do 2.5" to the mufflers(individually) and 3" after the mufflers all the way to the back. I'm pretty sure this will be better flowing but will this actually quiet it down? What do you think?

6.o can run 3" duals. Magnaflow mufflers will flow better and be quieter if you get a comparable size. I have a huge di do 3" magnaflow with an internal x on my HD and it sounds perfect imo. Thats w stock manifolds and cats thoughh

Our recommendation for your system will depend on how much power you are making, the Series of Flowmaster muffler that you are currently running and your desired level of sound. For an exhaust system recommendation for your truck based on your exact vehicle specs and sound preferences, give our Tech Line a call at (707) 544-4761.

Thanks guys! The sound i'm looking for is not a deep growl. I'm not sure how to describe the sound but iv'e heard a lot of corvettes sound just the way i like...but not sure what exhaust they have. But what would be louder? Dual mufflers with one pipe on each or one muffler with dual pipe?
