Can anyone identify what type of Magnaflow exhaust this sounds like? No reply yet from the video creator.

I heard back from the video creator. This is Magnaflow catback system 15839, which is a 5 x 11 x 22 muffler w/ 3 inch openings. He said it has a little bit of drone while cruising at 55mph, but not badly so.

I've read on other posts that the Magnaflow catback systems have drone issues, but have not heard such stories from those who only replaced the muffler. What do you guys think? If I get a longer length muffler, do you think there will be drone? Anyone JUST replaced a muffler only, with no drone problems?

I had the stock diameter piping with no cats and a magnaflow muffler (I forgot the size. I know for a fact it wasn't 22 inches long) it had some nasty drone but sounded mean as *hit.. Then again, I have long tube headers..

I plan on keeping my cats and have no headers, and want as little drone as possible.

I've decided (based on all of you guys' input) to go with a 22-inch SI/SO Magnaflow exhaust. I will let you know (and hopefully post video) how it sounds once I get it installed. Thanks for the input!

Can't afford Corsa. I just cannot justify paying $800+ for an exhaust system for a non-hotrod daily driver.

I could not find any video clips of a Borla exhaust on a NBS 5.3 Silverado (other than the links below). Do you know of any? I've heard that they are VERY similar to Magnaflow.

That one sounds like crap.

This one is too loud and obnoxious sounding.

Default backpressure issue?

Anyone know if installing a 5x11x22 SI/SO 3-inch Magnaflow muffler is going to hurt low-end torque? I do NOT want slower takeoffs!

This whole backpressure issue confuses me some.

I know Corsa is spendy but if you can find a used muffler someone is selling its the way to go. ZERO drone. I have LTs, ORY and Corsa and at highway cruise its nice and quiet until you get on it.
