I plan on doing a single-in/single-out setup. I basically just want to change the muffler. I've already purchased the tip I wish to use, I just need help with the muffler.

1) When you all say something like "use a 22-inch muffler", is that the body length or the overall length?

2) I believe the factory exhaust pipe is 2.75 inches. Is there any downside to using a muffler that has a 2.25 opening? My local muffler shop is suggesting using Magnaflow 11225.

3) I want the quietest muffler possible for highway cruising. Any suggestions?

22" is the body length, 5x11x22 is what you want.

the 11225 is a 14" body and will be louder than what you want, IMO.

also, dont use a single 2.25, either dual 2.25 if you want duals, or a single 3" if you just want single.

Out of the mufflers I ran my pipes up tight and under the bumper into (2) magnaflow 14" long race mufflers for a grand total of 4 mufflers. It's got a soft rumble to it at idle, no noise at cruise and when you hit the go pedal it sounds real low. I couldn't be more satisfied and I have a system big enough that I could pump tennis ***** out each pipe. Oh and I also forgot to mention that I crossed the pipes so they were equal length.
Let's see some pics of your setup Joe, sounds real nice

Default This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for.

This video is perfect for my situation:

Can anyone identify what type of Magnaflow exhaust this sounds like? No reply yet from the video creator.
