I had a hard time understanding what you just wrote. Do you want it louder or quieter?

Louder = remove the mufflers and run thru the catalytics by themselves

Quieter = change from Flowmaster to a quieter muffler.

Dual 2.5" setup is better sounding than a single 3" setup. Trust me on that one.

i would think the 3" would be too much and lower your compression. 2.5" piping would be good enough. if you want is deeper, than dont get it dumped. i have changed my exhaust like 3 times and i am back with the dumps only because i dont like looking at the piping come all the way back to the roll pan. my dumps sound good to me, and i get looks when i drive by people and hit the pedal. i have hi-flow cats along with jba headers. not sure if that makes it louder or not, but it almost sounds like i have a mild cam in it because it thumps pretty good.

I read that as you want it louder. Try this: Cut the pipes off after the mufflers. Leave about 1 foot of pipe, but dont do anything for turndowns. See if it sounds better to you. If so, put some turn downs on it and clean it up. If not, then remove the flows.
