I would do a single 3" all the way back with anything but flowmasters. LOL.

And I don't think its doggin on the lil 4.8 either. I would do that same setup on a 5.3 unless you were going FI. Theres just not a good enough reason to go true duals or a single 4" on a N/A 4.8 or 5.3 IMO. keep so low end and go single 3"

cool, I like ur theory. AJ told me to do 2.5 all the way back, but me, I LOVE loud. My dad.. well, rode an 07 HD Roadking with basically a 3in straight pipe and that ****** is LOUD and I love how it sounds. I want it to be loud but not a dog off the line. And I saw BlackGMC did 2.5y into 3in out a magnaflow. So Im thinkin thats the route Im gonna go since I want it loud but not to lose all my down low? sound good?

Yeah, sounds good. I tried the true dual thing thats the only reason I'm really against it. Had an 04 Sierra 5.3 ECSB and went true dual 2.5 into bullets. It was ok on the mostly stock truck, but when I added LT's, I felt my bottom end sucked away from me. Went back to a single 3" all the way back to a quickflow muffler and never looked back.

Are you planning on running cats or ORY? ORY will be loud no matter what muffler choice you go with. Like I said, I'd stay clear of flowmaster. Size of the muffler depends on how loud, if you want real loud, look into the Magnaflow Race Series mufflers, Part #14149 is a 5"x8" oval--6" long. That oughta be loud. LOL.

2.5 all the way would be your best choice for your motor.

and remember without your stock cats it will be alot louder, i would do a magnaflow or borla muffler, it will still sound real stong but you wont get a headache whenever your driving.

oh and believe me not doggin on the motor look at kbracing96, they are great motors just wanted to push you in the right direction

thanks guys lots of help and support. I think Im either gonna do a 2.5 off the headers into a 3 because its still gonna be chopped under the cab, or Ill do a 2.5 all the way.. I really like how my 3in sounds tho. I will either do a flowmaster race or a Magnaflow race. Not sure. Think I wanna do a Magnaflow this time around. And no cats I may chase the pipe back a little but I think Ill probly just do a slash cut turn down. Thanks again everyone

You could always buy my loudmouth, I am gonna remove it soon. With the longtubes & no cats, it is too loud for me. If you are after loud, this is it.
