Default Exhaust 2.5" or 3"

Ok I am going to be getting some new components to redo my exhaust setup this weekend however I am trying to decide whether to stay with dual 2.5" or step up to 3". My LT's are only 2.5" collectors so is there an advantage to runing 3"? I currently have True duals and at WO it is way to raspy/Crackly. I have a ORY with Two dynamax bullets into a Magnaflow mufflers. Idle is quiet, Part throttle is quiet, moderate throttle sounds agressive and WO is annoying. I am going yank the exhaust and put a X pipe right after the mid pipes then go into two Flowmaster 50 series mufflers. The plan is to run about 10lb boost daily with a blower friendly cam so I am thinking I should do 3". What are your opinions?

IMHO, 2.5" is good for duals, easier to fit and lighter to hanger etc,
that's 5" of effective exhaust flow.
you could put a magnaflow dual in/dual out with a built in x-core on it

I had a DI DO magnaflow and didnt like it, sounds just like it does now. Also with the internal X it puts the X too far back. I am going to put my X right after the mid pipes about 4ft infront of the mufflers. I think I might be better off going with 3" hhmmm I need to decide.

Only problem is that with my Qsteer rear end it is going to be very hard to get Dual 3" over the rear axle. The dual 2.5 thats on it now is a very tight fit.

I run a true dal setup with X behind the cats. 3" collectors and reduced to 2 1/2" right behind the X thru dual Borla XR-1 12" ovals. There are pics of the setup on my CD page, click my sig if interested.

I got single 3.5"....

For simplicity I'd go with a single 3.5" or 4" system, but if you're not worried about that I'd go dual 3"

Lol, I don't even carry the spare on a daily basis....that's what AAA is for, right? On road trips I toss the spare in the back.
Get that sucker down, it's no good stuck there
