Default Everything is here! Pics inside!

I finally have the the shortblock, heads and tranny waiting for next week to be installed. I've got pics of the stuff in my sig, check it out!

An LS6 intake WILL be going on after I get my taxes back. That's pretty much the only thing I lack.

When I do the swap I will be taking a TON of pictures and be making a thread of the swap as I go along. I'm sure I'll need some advice doing some things along the way.

I don't mind. The whole motor was $5535 assembled Tranny was $1850, so $7385 for everything but the tune, intake, and restalled converter. Everybody has been like get a 408. I was originally looking for a used 6.0 longblock. Cheapest working one I found was $1250 in dallas. I was gonna do a mild cam like a 220/220-112 and get a valve job and mill the heads. Then, a buddy on here (CRAZYCUTTER4.8) calls me about a customer at the dealership selling a 98' LS1 longblock for $450. I jumped on it because it was an LS1 and almost a 1/3 of the price of what I was gonna spend on the 6.0. It sat on my patio (covered up) for about 9 months before I spent a dime on it. I was gonna put a 224/224-112 FMS cam and the patriot heads. Then, I started thinking that I wanted more of jump in displacement, 5.3 to 5.7 didn't really impress me when I started adding up what it was gonna cost to do that for 21 more cubic inches. So, I decided to go stroker and get 58 more cubic inches for about $1800 more. Besides, If I got a radix with 6-7lbs of boost on the 5.3, I'd be making close to the same power, except way down low. And would still need a tranny to back that up. Truck just turned over 101,000. New motor and tranny will last me a good 5-8 years.
I'm in nursing school right now and have about 2 years left. My g/f has about 1 year left and then we'll get married and have two good incomes. I plan on going FI then. I also want to get a nice used Black WS6 Trans Am (My realistic dream car!) and putting something nasty in it. Anyways, sorry for the long post, I'm bored at work!

Stay away from my tranny! Seriously, thanks for the compliments! I'm just gonna use the stock ported TB/Truck Intake until around Febuary. Then I'm gonna get a LS6 intake and be done with it for a couple of years. The patriot heads are awesome! Gunnar did a really good job on them.
