Nice....how much did you snag it for...and is there anything different other than the tranny temp gauge and the 120mph speedo? Also does it light up differently?

Default Here's my experience

I bought my Denali cluster from JP Customs also...around $300, I think. Besides the trans temp gauge and the 120 speedo, the letters and numbers are a different font or type-face, white numbers with white needles during the day and blue-green with orange needles at night.

The dealerships here in Greensboro said they'd have to send the old & new clusters out to have it done. I think that was BS but what can you do? I put mine in myself and used the sticker included with the gauges to record the mileage at the time of the swap.

The tech at the dealership said the mileage is stored in about 6 different places on the truck so the correct mileage can be retrieved by the dealer.

Good luck!

I had a guy do mine (Denali cluster from JP Customs) for $100 (All legit, I have an invoice and all). I had to sign a paper sayin the mileage wasn't fraudulent, federal offense, blah, blah. Watched him do it too, really neat...he soldered a small 5 or 6 wire harness to the circuit board, hooked into his computer, showed me the binary code and a couple different places where he had to make changes. He updated the engine run-hours also. If you hold the odo reset button with the key off, you can view your engine run hours (I didn't know that until he showed me).
All in all, I'm very happy with it, works great, looks great, and I have another less than precise guage to look at.

I got mine from jenningsparts off of ebay for $185. It does have a different appearance and as far as I know the trans temp and the 120 speedo is the only difference. My truck is a stick rigg so I lost the shift light (thank goodness) and the trans temp is useless, also I covered up the gear position indicators.

Where did you get it done at? No one in arkansas can do it. Is there a place close to memphis?

How far is that from memphis? The truck is a daily drive so sending both units off is out of the Q. And all the dealers around here say that they can't do it.

You're saying that it only took them about 10 mins to program the correct mileage into your new cluster?

Did they need the truck and cluster, or just the cluster?

And if you don't mind me asking - how much did they charge you?

Thanks
