I have a friend of mine who is wanting to do an LS swap into his 96 Nissan 240. He is wanting to use the car as a drift/drag car and get the most bang for his buck out of the swap. I'm thinking either a n/a LS1 or a single turbo 4.8. Reason for my idea of a turboed 4.8 is he will be able to spin it to a higher rpm without risking tearing the stock bottom end out of it plus the 4.8 are pretty tough motors when you throw boost at them. And in a sub 3k pound car I think the 4.8 would be the ideal motor for what he is looking to do. Thanks in advance for all the input and advice!

 

bang for buck would certainly be a 4.8. they're not in high demand and there's a lot of them out there so they're often cheap compared to the bigger LS engines. lots of guys have ran home made budget turbo set ups on junkyard 4.8's with good results. sounds like fun.
