Default engine swap

I have a 99 4.8 litre engine. I was wanting to swap the 4.8 for a 6.0 long block assy. and use my exsiting electronics and intake. I realize that I would have to upgrade my injectors and get the PCM custom tuned. But my question is, does the 4.8 and 6.0 have the same firing order. I am trying to use a later model block with the aluminum heads.
Also what type of cam should I use. Any information is very welcome. One more thing, I was also wanting to use Magnacharger's Radix intercooled roots type blower.

Everthing from your 4.8 will work on a 6.0, except for the injectors like you mentioned. Cam choice is really up to what your plans are.

Since the motor is going to be out of the truck, you might wanna go with a lower CR if you're going to run the blower. The Radix is one of the best s/c's available for our trucks.

Good luck!

thanks for the info. Do you know of where I might find a decent deal on a 6.0? And what about the trans? Could I use the 4L60E that I have now? Would it hold up to the power and torque that I am aiming for? What type of converter would I be able to use for the street. I was thinking about a 2500-3000 stall. How strong is the rear end. I now have 3.73 posi unit that has about 118,000 miles on it. Also does anyone live in the Dallas Tx area and can maybe suggest a good shop to buy parts from and do some custom tuning?

only thing to really be sure about is that you are geting an 01 or newer 6.0 it will have aluminum heads, the older 99-00 wont work.

i am prety sure the 4.8 injectors will support a stock 6.0, maybe you can get some more oponions on that one. if you go with a radix set up it will come with bigger injectors. even if the 4.8 injectors are not large enuff for the 6.0 if you are sure about the blower just keep the rpm's down, like 5500 or less and the 4.8 injectors will be fine till you get the blower.

The 4.8/5.3/6.0 all share the same injectors.

In 1999 they were not all the same.
