Engine Conversion, which 5.3 to buy?

Exactlly. Just because you get say an 04 5.3 doesnt mean you have to keep it DBW.

I had a 1/2 ton gasser 2002 model, and it was cable throttle, and that thing ran strong. It didn't seem to have the torque management crap on it, and it really ran good. I have an 05 with DBW and it sucks. Has a lower gear, and I larger engine and feels worse that my 2002 4.8. That is why I don't like dbw. The computer tells YOU what you are going to get for power, not you telling it. I don't like that at all.

yeah, my 2000 4.8L has way more jam that my company 2002 4.8L... (even before i did the exhaust), is that because of the torque management changes in the new pcm?
