What kind of power gains will I be looking at with the Zo6 engine swap? I havn't started it yet, I still have to hook up the dual fans. Should i wait for Edit to get here or should i drive it around for a while?
Should I port and polish my Throttle body?

awesome dude!
you should have near 321rwhp/405flywheel
(stock z06)
I'd go drive it around before you get edit and get a feel for how it runs. Hell, i couldn't resist, knowin i got a vette motor in my truck.
I dont think porting/polishing your throttle body will do that much for you but im not positive. save some money for the transmission so you can beef it up some. so you can connect that power to the road.

fire it and check for leaks and such....make sure everything is working, and check SES lights and **** like that. if you have ATAP check everything you can with that just to see what's up. once you're sure it's all running correctly, no leaks and such then i'd take it out on the street and FLOG THE HELL OUT OF IT.....congrats man, ENJOY!!!!!

You know, with the Z06 mild cam it probably won't need the idle raised. If you kept your stock injectors, your air / fuel should be fairly close. Your injectors may end up being too small, but if you are still shifting at the factory points (5600 for 1-2 and 5200 for 2-3) the stock injectors should work OK. You'll be leaving power on the table by not raising your shifts up to 6000-6200 though.
I'd just get it running and test everything out on the stock truck tune. More than likely, its going to run pretty strong and purr like a mean little kitten.
Give us the results. Dont forget to top off all the fluids.
BTW - How long has this motor been sitting before you installed it? You may want to turn it over a few seconds with the fuel disabled and check for oil pressure before you fire it off.

The engine sat for like a month and a half, I did pull the fuel, and ignition fuses before I fired it up. Oil pressure was fine and this sucker sounds bad ***, i hope to have pictures soon. Everyone thinkd its a real SS.
