Correct. The cats stay in place, but you cut off the exhaust before the cats and weld in the flanges.

Check your PM's.

Kevin,

Was stationed in San Diego and installed Gibson stainless headers and had no problems.

I put the TOG headers on with an X pipe and true duels with 2 magnaflow mufflers dumped after the rear axel, I am very happy, not to loud at idle but sounds really good at WOT

Nice, thats good to hear. I will be running them down to the stock cats. Basically right before the flange for the cats, then my single exhaust picks up right after the flange past the cats. I just leaving the entire cat assembly umtouched.

However, I am still debating wether or not to drop the coin for the RADIX, or try and hold myself over for who knows how long (probably a week) with the headers......... decisions.

The Thorley Tri-Ys will work fine on a 5.3 or 4.8. Stock plug wires are a perfect fit with them. You will have to cut the stock exhaust right before the cats and weld their flanges on. No clearance issues.

However if you have a 6.0, that is another story. You can do a search for my adventureous header/cat install on my VHO. What a fiasco. It all worked out though and I now have the Thorleys and high flow cats with no SES light. I consider myself "legal" and should pass emissions testing if they ever implement it in my area.

Good luck!

I went with pacesetter and i am still legal. I retained the cats but they had to be moved. They are just fine and has all of the bungs to reinstall the O2 sensors. You should not throw a code. It was inexpensive compaired to the Dynatech. Including exhaust work i paid $550 for everything and got a great looking pair of ceramic coated headers. The plug clearences and frame clearences are just what were advertised.
