That would depend if you got a RE-TUNE or not. If you already have the Nelson Tune, and you get the thermostat + Fans, then the only way to take advantage of the cooler engine temperature would be to get a retune which would advance your timing a little bit . . ..

I believe Allen will do your retune for only the price of shipping . . . .

Also, about 12-20 hp probably . . . much better throttle response!!

I would have to say you would get 8 HP or less from an electric fan. Remember, electrical fans still take away from HP. You don't get something for nothing in this world. If you used a Flex-a-lite direct fit fan, which draws 28 amps, you would lose .5HP from the 8 HP the electric fan gave you. As the generator on a vehicle has to supply a larger amp load, it becomes increasingly hard to rotate (more resistance is encountered). Resistance or friction as we know reduces HP. In other words, Flex-a-lite's fan's for around $400 probably isn't worth it unless your trying to squeeze every ounce of HP out of truck if cost isn't an issue.

Give Allen a call at www.nelsonperformance.com he has wire harness that he made for the LS1 fans. I have a set and you just plug and play.

7-9rwhp over a nonlocked clutch fan sounds about right...considerably more over a locked one. Throttle response is much improved and slight powergained when the stock fan isn't locked. Also eliminates that "WHRRRRRRRRRR" also from the stocker when locked.

Yes working the alt more ot run the fans is a downside, but if they are run at lower speeds (as with a VSC or DCC setup) the difference would be like having your head lights on...

02Denali has a 40A VSC for sale in the For Sale section.

I'm running LS1 fans with a 40A VSC, works great.
