Default Electric Fans??

I'm curious about removing the clutch fan and installing a Cool Pack 2 from Perma Cool but it's kinda pricey. I've noticed a few people have electric fans but they are using the "F" body fans. First off it, is it worth going to electric fans and second which one is best to get.

Go with either the Flexalite 295 fans...those run a little more than $300 and it comes with the VSC.
Or just get LS1 fans off ebay for around $100, and get the flexalite VSC for $60.
The electric fans will relieve the stress the clutch fan puts on the engine and is supposed to free up some HP.
If you go electric fans though, you may want to upgrade your alternator since the e-fans pull more amps.

The Perma Cool fans say they are low amp fans. What is VSC? Is it variable Setting Control??

the flex-a-lites are your best option if you're going to buy an aftermarket kit. Easy to install and effective.

I've never used the LS1 fans personally but a lot of people seem happy.

LS1 fans are just as good as the flexilites. and will work with out the vsc if you wire them up correctly and have edit.with edit you can have the pcm controll when they turn on and when they turn off.
the vsc will only turn them on at 180* and it will go no lower.this is what im going to do when i finally get my truck fixed.
i liked the perma cool set-up, it was very clean looking, but yes it was a bit pricey. i picked up my fans from a person selling them on this board for $130 shipped. very easy to install. hardest part was taking the fan off, but once you figure it out, its easy.
me personally i would go with the LS1 fans and use the money that i saved to buy another mod

there's a set or two on ebay right now. Just do a search for 'ls1 fans'.
