I'm still researching too but, there seems to be a few different ways to do this.

First, you can buy the adapter harness online (Nelson, Blackbear, ect).

1. You have the smaller radiator in your truck so you can use the electric fans from a 4th generation fbody.

2. You can install the bigger radiator and fans out of a 2005 and newer Silverado. Keep in mind that these trucks came with a higher output alternator to drive these fans.

I have read that people have swapped to the 05 fan setup and not changed alternators and had no problems...

Try searching. It's covered here and on several other websites.

As stated above there are a few options. You can go with LS1 fans, switch to an 05+ setup and get the bigger 34" rad and efans or go after marker with a flex a lite setup or similar. You will need a harness for the LS1 and 05+ efans, some of the aftermarket stuff comes with a VSC controller which are junk most of the time. With most options tho you'll need someone to tune your PCM to activate the fans.

My question is how do you wire them to the PCM, I know you have to get a tune/re-tune to have the PCM turn them on, but how do you wire the relays to it? Do you have to find someone with computer pins, do you splice it inline with wires in the harness? This is my delima. I know how to wire things, I don't know what wire or pin to wire the + switch on the relay to.

had a friend install a set of ls1 fans on my 02 ecsb, he is the same person who tuned it, dont know how he ran it, but its hooked up where one is always running, and both run when the ac is running, been fine for me for over a year or two. great upgrade imo.

Two ground wires go into the PCM. If you buy a harness, the proper PCM pins should be included. When the PCM wants the fans to come on, it grounds the pin(s). There's a nice diagram on here somewhere that I used.

You will need a tune to activate the pins and set the parameters. It won't just plug and play on an 02.
