Default electric fan question

can i get away with putting on a single 16" diameter electric fan instead of a dual fan, like the 15" LS1 fans? will one fan be able to cool off things just as good or will it hinder performance?

I've had a singal Flex a lite 150 with 180 stat in my truck since 2000 and never had had a problem. Especially in Upstate Ny. How often are you Sitting in wall to wall Traffic with the AC on in 90+ weather in Upstate Ny, and if you are, you'll just have to leave it on. As far as hindering performance once the clutch fan is off -thats it the gain is achieved. It doesn't matter what fans you use to cool it along as they do the job. It was around $185 shipped. You prolly be able to find LS1/lt1 car fans for that or less, used.
As for clean it all depends on centering it and making presentable brackets.

Did you look on Ebay or Salvage yards for fans?

I'll keep an eye out over here, but that stuff tends to disapear quickly when it is laying around at the dealers.

ya i have some popping w/ the borla. when i rev it in park, after i let off the gas you here it from the rear tailpipes. it doesn't sound like a real loud pop, more like a rumbling pop, if that makes sense. it sounds normal to me. i don't remember it doing that when i 1st had it. i like mine i guess. wish it was louder. i guess i am getting used to it now. i never really heard it from outside the truck. i should have someone go by me at WOT so i can hear what it sounds like. i'm sure alot of guys here had the urge to do that. it must sound so different outside the truck compared to what you here from inside. the closest i get to hearing it is when i put my windows down and floor it when i go under a small one/two lane bridge.
