Default electric fan question???

alright have any of you dynoed your truck before and after the electric fan?

also did the fan make your truck a lot cooler temperature wise?

i am supposed to be getting my flex a lite electric fan in about a week. my roomate says that i won't notice much of a difference, if any. would anyone care to lend some info?

I have no dyno #'s, and the hp increase was small if any. The truck runs about 5-10* cooler than before. I had the 160* t-stat already, so the temps were low before the fans. Might see 10-15* cooler with stock t-stat, not too sure on that though.
I am running the LT1 fans, and I'm not sure which flex a lite fan you are going with.
The main reason I got the fans was to make room for a homemade intake setup and to take drag off the engine so it would operate more efficently(sp).

Just got the flex-a-lite #280 fans. Be aware that they now have two different kits. Kit #280 fits 92-99 vehicles, while kit #282 fits 00-02 vehicles.

Got the #280 but need #282. FLex-a-lite says they will overnite the correct brackets. Supplied brackets (#280) are sturdy aluminum that appear to requrie some drilling inorder to mount to the truck frame/supports.

well i ordered mine april 20 and i still don't have it but i just checked that it is coming from somewhere in illinois and heading to dallas, tx. when i called summit they said that they had a few in, but i checked the next day and they where all gone. better hurry up!!!

about the fan mess up. 280 is for the 99+ trucks and the 250 is for the 92-99. couldn't find anything about a 282. let us know how the installation went.

that part number 282 is good info, it would be great to get a kit that just bolts on without having to get creative or cheezy.

i am not looking for a big hp increase, i don't care for the sound of the factory fan, and i think i will be able to get more consistant temps between runs with the electric fan.
