Default electric fan on/off

is they're a better brand/type of temperature probe to stuff in the radiator other than the one that comes with the flex-a-lites or are they all the same? 01 thunder got me all wired up and working last night(thanks ), but we had a little fuss with the temp probe. when i left it seemed 100%. on my way back to school i noticed they were staying on while driving 80mph and the temp guage in my dash was under 185 so i stopped and made an adjustment. it was working perfectly again kicking on at about 190 so i went on to school and it was still working perfectly when got parked. today i was chillin in the walmart parking lot checking out my new radar detector and looked up and my temp was way past 210, so i made another quick adjustment and it worked perfectly again. just went and ate dinner and now it went over 210 again. i dont want something on my truck if i have to wory about it working all of the time

other than the temp probe i love the fans. i dont have any of the problems alot of other people were having with lights dimming etc. and they cool really good.

Man I hate to hear there not working right for you. I have another probe but if you can up flexalite they will send you one for free. I set the temp setting as cold as it would go and left it alone. Glad to hear you got them all right. Did you notice any gains in gas milage or power.Hope you get it figured out.

I use a DC Controls unit upon recommendation of your own LS1tech nice-guy V8. I use two Perma-Cool fans and that controller (just got them installed yesterday) and the controller works awesome. It doesn't have a dial, but you can use jumpers to change the operating temp up or down from the preset 180 degrees. I had mine at 195 thinking that's what it needed but right now I'm running on the 180 setting and it still rarely comes on at all.

the fans work perfectly yellowsierra. i knew there was a good chance of the probe not working to my standards after reading about so many problems with them. i dont see it costing me too much extra. ive only driven about 150 miles since the install and my foots been in most of it so i dont have any milage numbers yet. it definately feels more peeppy to me though. my 1-2 shift dosent feel as weak any more so im happy. great doing business with you

just a thought. dc controller does this. move the probe to the other side of the radiater. the outlet side on the bottom. the temps are more consitant there. then reset everything. and is there a cap on the front of the temp probe. i put a vaccumn cap on mine so air from the front did not alter it. and go get that pcm reflashed or save some cash and get that nelson tune.

the dc controler looks cool, but its out of my price range for a temp fix. i dont have a cap on it. i planned on it but thought it was only to keep it from slipping out. what exactly is a vacumn cap and where can i get one?
