Default EGR Valve and PCV Valve

ok doing alittle homework just wondering do these matter much i know what they do but does anyone know if its worth changing them. how long till i should change them. I know EGR Valve helps Improve performance and mileage. so is it worth the change thanks for your time

Changing the pcv-yes.
Raplacing the EGR valve for maintenance sake-no. Most people get rid of the EGR system all together for a cleaner looking engine bay. No set backs or problems from doing this.

well if you have an 02 5.3 you shouldn't have an egr...right??

yeah i think they eliminate the egr in the 02 and up.

02 models the egr system was deleted. As for the PCV valve, it's so cheap not to change it. I would say at least once a year.

My 02 6.0L GMC has the EGR and where is the PCV valve on this thing? I can't seem to locate it. Thanks

PCV valve is at the rear of the driver's side valve cover, with a rubber hose attached to it.
