Default egr and stuff

so whats this stuff about egr? i have a 2000 silv with stock manifolds and evetualy ill be investing in some pacesetter LT's and ORY, does my exhaust have the egr? what is egr and what does it do? should i try to get LT's with or without it

Some people do a bypass on it but you don't have to.From what i understand it doesn't help WOT performance any...If i'm wrong please say so cause if it does help WOT then i'm all for it!!!!!

i guess what im asking is what is it and do i have it stock? if so then i need to get a compatiable header and if i dont have it on my manifolds then i can just forget about it right?

I believe it sends exhaust emissions back through your system or some ****...blahblah...
Yes i think they all ahve it stock.Is it a must have...no is it a must do mod???No.
Somebody help me here i think i'mm drowning!!!!!!
I did a search on this a while back but i forget all the crap it said...i searched over on ls1 though....

I had EGR on mine too, the stock exhaust manifolds will have a hook-up for it. if you get pacesetters they will have a hook up as well. I had mine turned off in the tune. it doesnt really help or hurt performance any at all. I was just told by a bunch of people that since the purpose of EGR is to recirclate exhaust gasses back into the intake manifold that it would keep the intake cleaner etc etc... so I did it. The headers came with a blank off plate for the EGR mount. its not a big deal either way. Just personal pref I guess.

good deal, cuz i used to think that edelbroch shorty's were good headers and all and was trying to decide about the EGR thing but then i forgot about those since LT's are clearly better...i guess i'd just buy the 2wd pacesetters and ORy and make them work with whatever they came with
