Default EGR Question (Need Help with the Quickness)

I am installing suspension kit on my GMC and the EGR is in the way of my front shock mounts. Is it possible to run the truck without the EGR at least for a short while so I can get it out of the way and back to storage? What kind of problems would I be looking at? Planning to turn it off with tuning. Thanks in advance.

It will be fine, just throw an SES light. Just make sure to block off the intake manifold hole.

Cut off the EGR tube coming from the exh man up close to the EGR valve. Block off the bung on the exh man with some flat stock. I did this mod nearly 10 years ago on my 99 Silverado(which I still have) and never got a P0401 DTC. The EGR still works as normal, but instead of recirculating exhaust it just takes in fresh air. Much better for your engine.
