Default EGR Question

I am thinking about putting a cam and long tube headers on my truck ..... a 2000 GMC 1500 Z71 with a 2003 LQ9 6.0.
The long tubes I like have no place for the EGR tube ..... can I do away with it and block off the intake too?
Will it run better with it, or without it ..... I will get a dyno tune when I do.

THANKS for any help!

It's not needed, it's why they did away with it after the year 2000.

It'll keep the intake cleaner as well, no exhaust carbon build can happen now.

Plug the intake and the tune will do the rest.
