Default EGR question...

so i installed my pacesetter LT's a while ago and it came with an EGR block off plate so now im thinkin i might as well do the egr delete. what all do i do though? block off the EGR port of the header, then what? i know theres a tube that goes down the top of the intake but how do i remove it? i know after its done i have to get it deleted out of the computer but basically, can someone give me a quick rundown of what i need to do for the EGR delete, and what benefits from it? pictures would be appreciated

I dont have any pics of mine since I deleted it. all you have to do is block off the header, unbolt the EGR valve from the pass. head, and unbolt the tube from the intake manifold. I plugged the hole in my intake with a 1-3/8" expandable rubber freeze plug I got from advance for like $3.00 if fit and works perfectly and took less than a minute to put in.
as far as tuning it out, I dont honestly know, I had mine deleted in my mail order. but when you pull out that tube and see where it sits in the intake path (plus how filthy it will be) you will be glad you got rid of it for sure...

that's for sure.

you having a tuner delete it or yourself? you have a timing table for it and a "off" tab.

When I did my 6.0 swap, I didn't put the EGR on the new motor. I drove around for about 2 weeks (300 miles) with the SES light on, but that's the only thing I noticed....the light.

good info, just unbolt it from the top of the intake and stick a rubber stopper in it and block off the plate on the header, seems simple enough

just looked at the intake and the EGR port is on the passenger side of the intake correct? there isnt a tube running intot he top and it looks like its just connect by 2 silverish steel bolts on the pass side of the intake and that tube runs to some black cylinder then to the header...ill remove it and freeze plug it in a few days
