Default Efi to carb

Hi all...
I'm in a dilemma right now...
I'm building a 360 magnum engine to go in my Dodge ram 98 2X4...
The engine is from a 2002 Durango r/t and has some major mods like :
bored 0.030
zero deck clearance (0.005)
blueprinted engine spec with my machinist
forged piston
compression 10.2:1
arp rod bolts
big cam
ported heads
etc...
And i'm at the moment to choose to stay fuel injected or go carb...
staying efi is a pain in the *** to tune....can i start the engine on the stock pcm and bring it on its own Wheel to the tuner guy?
And the efi parts are pricier...

Carb would be more simple to tune....
but i think its gonna interfere with my trans...a 46re..computer controlled....
Maybe use a shift kit or manual valve body to shift....??

I would like to get some of your suggestion to see where i can go with this. so i'm waiting your idea!

Thank you

Maxx

hybrid? can you run the engine from a stand alone computer with a carb? then keep the OEM computer running to control the transmission. just find out exactly which sensors are needed to control the transmission and leave those pins connected. remove the rest and trash them.

Thats a good idea...
I dont know if the transmission would run correctly if all the sensor on the engine where not connected...but if it work, that would be great....Did you ever tried this TXsilverado? or anyone in here ever tried something like this setup??

Thank you

the stock computer will still need some sensors. a TPS sensor will be needed for sure. a tach signal for sure too....

you will need to get with a tuner to figure out exactly which parameters the transmission needs to shift correctly.
