Default efans and 160 thermo.

I just got done installing the LS1 fans and a 160 thermostat and took it out for a little ride and it got up to 210. I had previouly installed this stat before and removed it. do you think it could have gotten damaged in the few months it was sitting in the box. I currently have the fans programmed to turn on a 180 and turn off a 160. I also have a toggle to manually control it. I also went to pep boys and got some water wetter and it works, to a point. I dont know waht else to check. any input would help. thanks.

check for air in the system, this is usually the main cause of running hot in these trucks. i have efans and a 160 stat and it runs right around 190

check the stat... I've got e-fans and a 160 and the only time it even reaches close to 200 is if I let her sit and idle for a while

A little bit of air can make these motors overheat in a hurry. You have to be sure to bleed it all out as you are filling the radiatior back up...

In the mornings when I dont use the A/C it runs right at 180. at stoplights, traffic and so on. but in the evening when its 100 degrees and I use the A/C it gets up to 200 quick. I dont know, I checked for air and I bled it for a while, still does the same thing.

normally if it had air in the lines, it would overheat no matter the situation. You may wanna go ahead and pick up another t stat....

So it sounds like it only runs warm when the a/c is on. Are the fans running on high when the a/c is on? If they're just running on low, it may not be enough to cool both the condenser, and compensate for the extra load on the engine from the a/c compressor.
