Edit tuned the truck today! Long.

did he have to pull the computer and do a "benchtop" program or did he just plug into the diagnostic port inside the truck?
i just talked to carputing a few days ago, the info i have is you can use it on 03's but have to get a mini harness and program it seperate from the truck, that part is $125 from spertech. sounds like it will be at least a month before the intruck 03 software is ready.

Yeah, Cmotorsports said it should be done by December first. They said thay they ran into a problem getting 14 guage stainless steel to make the piping and header for the turbo. They just want everthing to be overkill so that they don't have any problems with cracked headers or what not which I have heard a lot of with turbos. The nice part of the turbo package will be depending on how much power you want, they can change just the turbo. Unlike using a supercharger that is set for a specific, and over revving it with a smaller pulley to make more power. That new power will not be as effecient as just plopping a larger turbo, and they will probably buy back the original turbo. They are shooting for 160 horsepower gain at the wheels with the turbo and dyno tuning, for $5000 completely installed. Sounds good to me. But they said with the original piping if you ever bullitproof the motor, then they can go with larger turbo and add up to 300hp more depending on your application, while using all the original piping!

That's what I was told too. I'm not buying a harness and then pull the PCM for tuning. I'm waiting for the intruck tuning as well.

Yes he had to pull the computer. He tried to program the truck at first from inside, but said that they have a different computer that works with the inside plug on the late 02 and newer trucks, that was messing things up, and wouldn't let it program. He had to pull the computer each time, but he did it in about less than a minute each time, and looked real easy for him. He had a different huge type of plug that he used on it. After he tuned it, then we would go for a spin, and he would then just plug into the underdash plug while driving.
Also as a side note, they can't program unless the voltage is between 11.6 to 12.2 volts. I got an optima battery on mine, and he would have to turn on the headlights for about 10 minutes each time to get the voltage down in the range. I was actually putting out to much voltage with my battery. He said that earlier model trucks are faster and easier to do, since you just plug the computer in, and then whamo, program it. On mine he had to change back and forth on the wiring harnesses for programming and then monitoring the system.
