It may be different for GM but, here at my VW dealership, we do the cluster and mileage changes. I would think GM has come up with a similar set-up, the VW clusters can only be programmed once. For about $180 a pop, I doubt GM dealers would risk getting in trouble by changining mileages. I know our used car dept. is pretty careful with there money. Also, sales and service don't share income, so whatever sales makes on a deal, service never sees a penny.

gm has never been able to modify the odometer. it will have to be sent to a place like spedometer service or a place i beleve is called zepco or something like that. just keep your old cluster and leave it alone. hell, tell everbody your truck has been sitting since it was new!

I once heard a dealership around here had a truck on the lot that was wrecked while being a demo truck for one of the employees. Rumor has it that they fixed it and 0'ed the mileage out and sold it as new.
