Default Edelbrock Pro Flo XT in 4.8l

Heres the link from my forum:

Basically, we start with a n/a 4.8l silverado, automatic with the following mods:
TR224 Cam
3600 Stall
3.90 gears

Made 284rwhp/271 rwtq.
Runs 13.2@99 w/ 1.86 60ft on et streets.

We added:
Stock 706 heads. Ported, polished, decked .25.
Edelbrock Pro Flo XT Intake
Edelbrock Fuel Rails
Edelbrock 90mm TB
42lb LS1 Style Injectors & Aeromotive FPR

Goals of at least a 12.9.

After driving it around for the past couple days its so freaking quick now. It needs more cam tho, I didnt think these heads would do a thing, but boy do I need more cam. It is so responsive now that its insane. I havent even been able to mat it in 1st on the street and keep my foot in it. I'm going to the track tomorrow (sunday 4/18).

I will have video of the best run hopefully, maybe some better times I'm hoping. And I'll be able to answer any questions you all might have. I'm pretty excited, haven't modded the truck in over 2 years and its time to get the n/a 4.8 in the 12s.

Me and a buddy's shop did the work. Local tuner did the tune. You can see details on those responsible on my forum, won't mention names and such here.

am building an lq9 with proflo xt and futral f13/112 cam for my 04 xcsb. congrats on your project. so many people have said a loss of low end and needs a bigger motor. lol. one of the first test i read was a conversion on a carburated 307. gained horsepower. kept torque. and gained 6 mpg. just proving supposed experts wrong, aint it grand.

I have a startup video from this morning too, I fixed the idle since that. Gotta play w/ the IAC screw on the new throttle body in conjunction with the tune. It idles perfect now.

And, acethedragon... if anything it moved the torque earlier than before and it feels like a bit more. Wont know till the dyno and wont know until I see how it runs tomorrow, i'll report back tomorrow nite

Ive seen engine dyno graphs of an XT on a H/C/E 6.0L. Lost 25+lbft below 5000RPM. Gained some hp over 6200RPM.

Its has to loose torque, have you looked at it?? Its a cast version of a sheet metal/tunnel ram intake, which inherently looses torque down low in trade for High RPM gains.

Putting it on a 4.8L is even worse, unless you live at 6000+ RPM and have a large cam this intake is far from optimal for your combination.
