Default ECM reflashed, STILL won't start! HELP!?!?!?!

OK, I had programmed, well, tried to program my truck with the Diablosport Predator that came with my Whipple. Long story short, it jacked the ECM. Would not turn over, no ignition power basically. Turn the key, nothing happened. Sent the ECM and Predator to Diablosport Tuesday overnight UPS. Got it back today (a day late) along with a new Predator.

Hooked up the ECM, hooked up the battery. Engine turned over, acted like it was going to fire, let off the key to the RUN position, engine dies. Turn the key again, same thing.

WTF now????????

I've unhooked the battery countless time and let is set a couple of minutes then hooked it back up. Still no start. I'm pissed!

maybe going into security mode ?? Does the padlock light up on the dash ??

If so, you need to do the 3-10minute wait-it-out thing... Lemme know and I'll explain it...

When it fired and died, after it died did you unhook the negative terminal, and reconnect it then try to start it again?

Yeah, but I tried to start it a couple of times before I first unhooked it.

hey you might want to try this

ATTENTION: Your vehicle may not start unless this procedure is performed.

GM introduced an anti-theft system in 1996 and newer vehicles.

In order for your vehicle to start, you must perform the passkey relearn procedure.

If your vehicle’s battery is low, it is recommended a battery charger be hooked up at this time.

This Procedure will take approximately 20-30 minutes.

After your PCM is installed, please perform the following.

You may want to be outside your vehicle so shut the door, roll down the window.

PROCEDURE:

Insert key, attempt to start the vehicle and leave the key in the ON position.
In some vehicles, the Battery and Security light will blink for several seconds, and then shut off. Then the Security light will then remain ON. Leave the ignition ON until the Security light goes OFF. This will take more than 5 mins.

When the Security light goes OFF, turn the ignition to the OFF position.
Leave ignition OFF for 20 Seconds.

Attempt to start the vehicle again and leave the key in the ON position.

Once this entire procedure has been completed (three times) your vehicle will start on the fourth attempt.

Note: Some vehicles perform the relearn in a different sequence. You may notice your security light, battery light and abs light will alternate. Once the security light is left out of the sequence that is considered one step. Repeat the procedure two more times and on the fourth time your vehicle will start.

FAQs:

- The procedure was just completed now my car is making a clicking noise when I attempt to start it.

Your battery may have become too weak to crank the engine over.

- I performed the procedure and my vehicle still doesn’t start

I'm not disputing 02Denali, but I've never done it quite like that. Not saying that won't work, but here's how I do it (I've had to do it 4 times on three different vehicles, and it worked perfect each time):

Try to start vehicle. Should start and immediately die. Try starting 2~3 times. Padlock should be lit. Leave in ON position. Wait 10 minutes. BE THERE when padlock goes out, if you wait too long, you have to start over !!

Turn key to OFF, pause, turn to ON, but DO NOT try to start. Padlock should be lit. Wait 10 minutes for it to go out.

Turn to OFF and back to ON, do not try to start. Wait 10 minutes and repeat one last time.

On the fourth attempt, turn key to OFF, pause, turn to ON and START. Should lite rite up

Not really a big difference from his, but that's what works for me

Let us know what happens and which method you use.

Oh- I forgot !!!

On the fourth attempt, when you turn the key to OFF for the final time before starting, you need to PULL the key it from the ignition, reinsert it then start it.
