This is wrong. These headers are " Less Expensive" Not Cheap at all. They are quality headers and built damn good for the money. They are fine for the 99% of us who dont want or need to spend 1000$ on headers. Just cuz they are on ebay they arent the typical crap.

If i would have bought say a name brand like heddman, flowtech, or PS or hooker, somehow theyd be better quality cuz of a name? Not in this case.

Doesnt matter who makes the header in this case, its the age old prob of spark plug wires vs header tubes.

To solve this prob i took stainless hose clamps, cut the serrated part off, and drilled a hole in them, mounted them to the head, and bent a curl in the end to hold the wire away from the header, also used DEI heat sleeves . No probs yet. And also bent the boot on my MSD wires to keep the wire away far as possible.

Im going to buy a cut to lenght kit and make longer wires to go around the outside of the tubes in the future.

 

hirdlej came up with this one and it worked great for me. After this I had no problems for more than a year until I took the headers off. I tried the header wrap, and the plug wire socks, and every time they still would burn.

 

Yes, that's the pic that I remember, cleanest solution I've seen for this IMO. I forgot that it was Joe who came up with that one...

 

Heres what all I ended up having on mine before I did the brackets, and it would still burn them in about 6 months. 2 pairs of socks, and header wrap on the hump. Then I did the brackets on both wires for less than $5 and it lasted longer than anything else I did, and had no signs of being burnt when I took the headers off.
