ye i have this problem to, but i have pacesetter headers. So its not just ebay headers, still trying figure something out, but if you do let me know. Its my boot that touching not the wire itself.

Dude my #5 JBA wire burned up even with a heat wrap sock on it. #7 is still good but I don't know for how long...so far so good.
If you buy a set house brand wires at Autozone the #5 is long enough to wrap around the hump with no problems...dunno about 7 yet.

i got the msd wires and my boots bend so they dont touch the pipe...they've worked so far...

mine burned through even with the wire sleeves, had to wrap the wires in aluminum foil then use the sleeve over that, havent had a problem in 2 years

yeah I made two longer wires... and routed them out of the way MSD wires bend at the boot and the GMPP wires which are better than the MSD's they bend too

Mine have been on for my truck for 16+ months so far.
My "temporary" fix is still there, working great. No show truck here, so no worries.
I used a small section of the heat wrap that is used to insulate turbochargers on big construction/industrial equipment. My wires are, and always have been, right against the header tube...
