You guys who go in from underneath - are you all 2wd?

I still think you are gonna have to unbolt the pan but yes im 2wd. Its not gonna be easy or fun for that matter.

Yeah all the guys going from the bottom are 2wd. You will need to unbolt the pump so you can twist it on the crank and pop the tube out. I have found its easier to do it that way and it also allows you to guide the pickup tube in better.

Default pan bolts

just take your pan bolts out and drop on cross member then go in from the front just be very careful with that bolt if you have not replaced your oil pump before make sure that you do or you will kick yourself in the *** later ......... you will be able to get your head in there far enugh to set the pump with a feler gauge to make sure its centered much easyer than droping the pan completely

Why would I replace the oil pump? This engine only has about 20K miles on it.

Once you unbolt the pump off the block you have to use a feeler gauge to line it up on teh crank right otherwise the clearance between the rotor and housing inside will be off.

Hmmm......I don't see any reason to replace with another stock oil pump.....but.....what would be a good performance replacement?
