Default E-Fans or Pulley?

Whish would give more gains e-fans or pulley? How much gains if anyone has any #'s. Probably will do both mods but have to upgrade my alternator since I have a stereo syst.

I know some people like to do underdrive pulleys, but I don't like the idea of slowing down the accessories, especially the alternator, and especially since you will have e-fans and a big stereo running off of it. My own personal opinion, but I don't think the underdrive pulley is worth the trouble. I would do e-fans.

e-fans. when i had small bolt-ons and then added the e-fans, i did feel a seat in the pants difference. throttle response felt better and didn't take as much pedal to get it moving. i'm still running stock crank pulley.

e fans....

100bucks fans
60-120 for harness
300-495 for the tune to make them work

pulley
100-240 depending on new or used
2-4bucks for new crank bolt

big price difference but I would do e fans though since they get rid of that damn motor bogging crap when the fan is on.

Another plus is that that the E-fans will be cheaper. I would recommend getting a fan/shroud assembly from a late 90's taurus/thunderbird/cougar. They out perform even most aftermarket fans and are way less than half of the cost depending on where you get it. On high the taurus fan pulls ~ 4000 CFM

I've seen the taurus fan/shroud go from $20 to $40. The only drawback is that you might have to mod the shroud, but you probably won't since you have a truck there should be plenty of room. These fans seem to be very slim cmparted to what I'm used to working with and that will give you more room up front.

Good luck.

If I had to choose between the two, I would do e-fans. However, I am a big fan of the ASP crank pulley. I would do both at the same time. And about turning your accessories a little slower, that is nothing raising your idle can't fix.

do the e-fans first, IMO it will give you the most first. then when you want to only spend a little money and get a little power too go with the pulley later. your syst. should work fine and when you get your tune you can just raise the idle to like 800 like said above. nice sig vortec, BTW, i love it
