Default E-Fans cool enough??

I live in FL and it can get 100+ degree's here for 16 hrs a day. will LS1 fans be enough to keep my truck cool even when towing heavy stuff?

Maybe not with heavy ... heavy being 4k or better. I haven't had a problem with mine though. It won't hold a 180* like it will with the cooler thermo in cooler weather, but it has yet to get over 220.

What kind of Doo you got? You on 4tecperformance? You can PM me if you'd prefer.

If you intend on towing close to your maximum rating, stick with the stock fan. The stock clutch fan can pull more than double the air electrics can when it's locked up. You might consider installing a pusher fan on the front to help the air conditioner remove the pudding from the air you have down there. Man I sure don't miss humidity...

What you do depends on whether your objective is to clean up the engine bay and save a tiny bit of fuel or make the cooling systems more able to do their jobs.

Flyer, im on sea-doo.net sometimes

I have a 95 SPX right now... bought it brand new in 95, still looks like it did on the floor too. (wash/wax after everyuse + garage kept = perfect
anyway, it has a westcoast pipe, and im about to get a level 1 (head/carb mod) and a blueprinted rideplate

as far as towing... towing a 3800 pound car, and 2500 pound boats is the most i pull, but that can be for long distances too...
I honestly dont see how it is bad to have e-fans to tow? even with a cooler stat?
how much do the ls1 fans flow compaired to the stock clutch fan??

Electric fans are "less capable" of total cooling than the stock clutch fan. This is important for towing at or near capacity. You asked, that is the answer.

so does anyone know what the limit is for E-Fans?
I can understand why the HD trucks in 05+ still have the clutch fan, cause they have extreamly high towing. but for a 1500 non-hd w/ tow package in 05 have E-Fans right? they have now problem towing anything under their max rating.( i.e. 8000 lbs.) correct?

if you would run both fans on MAX when towing, I would think that should move more than enough air correct? I wonder if you can set it to switch both on max when using tow/haul mode?

does anyone know what the stock ls1/lt1 fans flow on MAX?
