Default e-fan wiring problem

I got my nelson harness and new tune today. I got the ls1 fans in and got everything wired up. I crank the truck and everything is fine except the fans arent coming on. If I cut the a/c on only one fan comes on. The pin thats made into the fan harness isnt as long as the others on pcm i dont think. Am i just supposed to push the wire and all into pin 42? I got in as far as i thought it would go. I drove the truck home and no overheating problems but it was raining and i was goin 70 or so. I still never heard the fans come on though.

How far did you push the pin in? You should be able to feel it click twice. I had the same problem, turns out I just didn't have the PCM pin inserted far enough.

Maybe your truck never got to the operating temp necessary to trigger the fans?

LOL, Sorry about that... It's late.......I have had to pull the platic end off the PCM harness to make sure the pin is in fully. It might not have been turned on, thou I doubt that....

Try grounding the pin that goes to the PCM, the fans should come on...

well i drove around last night and today and the fans have yet to cut on but my temp is staying around 190 so maybe its cool enough outside for the fans not to cut on? I pushed the pin in as far as it would go where the only thing i could see from the back was the wire. i have a 160 stat so when im in traffic the temp stays at 190 but when i get going it drops back down. hasnt gone over 190 though.

Still might not be far enough. You need to pull the connector out of the PCM and look through the clear part and see if the new pin is even with all the old pins from the factory. I had to use a straightened paperclip and jam it down in there next to the wire and push to get the pin to seat all the way.

Yeh i just talked to allen he said to make sure the pin is pushed through. He also told me to ground the pin to make sure the harness and the fan motors work. Il figure it out.
