Default e-fan problems??

my truck keeps on heating up with the a/c on in stop and go traffic, if I turn off the a/c its ok though?? well, today I got home and did a little r&d, with my a/c off both of my fans are on and on low speed, when I kick on the a/c only one fan kicks in on high and the other one shuts down completely?? this is a nelson harness and I have probably put about 3 sets of relays thinking that was the problem... so what can I do??

I am very tempted on just putting a toggle switch and running them on high all the time

or

splice some wires to hook up the fan that shuts down to the fan that is on high when the a/c is running,??

what do ya'll suggest??

thanks...

That's how mine reacted when I had a bad relay in there. You sure all of them are good? Are you putting in 30 or 40 amp relays?

hey thunder, I know you've been dealing with the relay thing for a while, what part numbers have you been using for the relays? I'm building my own harnesses exactly as GM builds them, only I cant use the relays they spec, so I was curious as to the ones that most are using and finding success with?

I don't have any part numbers (sold my e-fans and harness). I got them from Napa though, and made sure they were 40 amp relays. I believe they were the only model they carried.

I personally would just leave the fans on high all the time if I could. Cools more efficient.

your problem with the harness, I would contact nelson about it if you think the harness is faulty.
