Default E-fan guys here

Well, I've about had it with my distusting fan (it sounds so ugly), and I'm looking into some e-fans. The problem is I don't want to get some cheap trashie e-fans from a junk yard for $50. I would like to, but it's a risk I'm NOT willing to take. I heard the 05 e-fans are't too much, $220 right?. And I would also be getting a Nelson harness.

The other problem is I really don't think I'm up for installing it myself. I know it's plug-in-play, but it's easier said than done (unless someone has pics, or step by step instructions). Does Nelson also do the install himself?

I got mine off of E-bay for 240.00. Allen will install them, he did mine about a month ago along with my dyno tune, just give him a call and set up a time. He is a pretty busy guy, if you don't get ahold of him leave a message and he will get back to you.

nothing wrong with f-body fans but if your totally against that get some flex-a-lites. flex's look totally factory and it really is a plug and play deal when you get allens harness. the vsc system was a pos, and i needed help getting it all wired up. i tucked it the best i could but it was still everywhere and i didnt trust it(and it eventually died). i got allens harness and it was a breeze to install and i never wory about my fans anymore.

if you go with the 05 fans youll have to change radiators unless you have a 6.0 that comes with the 34" radiator. thats where it can get expensive.

Agreed with TXSilvy. I have the Flex's, and it does look like they came with the truck. But they can be pricey. Luckily I got mine from a fellow member on tech, for pretty cheap. Anyways, if you do go this route, I highly suggest that you get the Nelson Harness. I will be doing mine this weekend. I cheap-assed it and used the provided VSC and it has now crapped out on me twice.

The f-body fans are a good, cheaper substitute and can be made to look very clean if done right. The 05 fans have to be used with the 34" radiator which you probably don't have. Getting the new rad, would be pricer than just using FAL's.

If you get fans from a junk yard you can have them hook a battery to them to make sure they work. They will be a lot cheaper and they are easy to clean up.

He'll need that tune anyway to use the fans with Allen's harness.

i got my ls1fans off ebay and they work flawlessly. instead of the vsc, i got a controller from autozone that ran $25, upgraded the relay and havent turned back. these work awesome.
my fans ran me $125 shipped.

Well I was going to wait on the tune after I get my other crap (TB spacer, 160 stat., ect.), so I guess I will just have to wait on the e-fans so i can get a tune at the same time. That's for the replys.
