E Cutout

Anyone that is running the QTP e cutout, are you having any problems with the closing of the butterfly? I have had to send these back to QTP once already because they didn't work. Now, they work, but they don't close all the way. You can hold the button up (to close) and it will close all the way if you hold the button. You let it go and it opens just a hair, sounds like an exhaust leak. Frustrating!!! Anyone have experience with these? Thanks

My Mccord Power Plate II does the same thing. Mine has been repaired 3 times for leaking, butterfly poping off, and motor burning up. It never closes all the way, but i think its hard to do that with a butterfly setup. I have seen other setups that utiltize a "gate" style valve but your going to pay big $$$$$$ for those. If mine goes out again im not fixing it, too much maintaiance and trouble i will just un-cap manualy. Great concept, but they all leak.

Would the website be Mccord.com? Whitt, can you let me know. My pops and I just spent an extreme amount of money at this place, so money is tight for that car. Thanks for the info

Although this is the first QTP I have personally heard of with those problems, I have seen 3 McCords fail. Unles McCord has changed their design, they have plastic gears where the QTP's have metal. Toxic Texan has a lovely story on the McCord and his dealings with them.

Ahhhh the Keith McCord story. Well all I can say is the MPP2 is a piece of junk. Mine lasted all of 3 days.
When I called Keith and talked to him he said, "I will send you what you need and a HOW TO." Hmmmmmmm I said "Can I just send this one back and you fix it or just send me a new one?" He told me I will get you whatever you need. Cool. Well what comes in the mail??? A nylon gear with no instructions.
I still have it.
Maybe I should take pictures and let everyone see what is inside.
Anyways I called QTP and got a QTEC and it works great for two years now!!!! More than a 1000 times of opening and closing. If I were you I would call Barry at QTP and let him handle your problem. He will take care of you.
If you have any ?'s let me know.
