Default dynomax bullet vs SLP loudmouth?

which one is a better muffler and produces the better sound? i'm needing something small like these types of mufflers due to lack of room under the truck

Go with the bullet. I have the loudmouth and I am adding some bullets to quiet it down a little. If you have stock manifolds, I loved the loudmouth, but with lts and no cats, the loudmouth is too much. Go with the bullets, cheaper and they have a good tone to them.

Loudmouth II is an awesome sounding muffler (well, resonator). Loudmouth I is a straight pipe through a resonator body and is LOUD, hence the name lol. Bullets sound decent but I've never cared for them and the only muffling device in a system. I like the sound of old school chambered mufflers personally; which is why I have a Classic Chambered Powerstick on mine.

is the performance of a loudmouth 2 worse than that of say a regular magnaflow or dynomax?

No, but why pay the price for a loudmouth when you can pay less for a magnaflow or dynomax.

I have the loudmouth I's with pacesetters and no cats, and at the top of every gear there is a lot of rasp. Sitting there revving it it sounds great, and stomping on it they sound good, creeping around they sound good, but when its just light acceleration getting up to speed, there is too much rasp without the cats. With cats, I would agree they are probably the best sounding muffler out there.
