Default Dynomax Bullet

Well, I'm getting bored with the Flowmaster on my 5.3, time for more noise. So i'm gonna go with the Dynomax Bullet mufflers. So what i'm trying to find out which length you guys are running and if you have any sound clips. I'm leaning more towards the 12"case/16.50" overall but i'm wondering if that will be too much, they also make a 18"case/23.50" overall.
What do you guys think?

Thanks

well i got a 4.8 5spd, with a 12" dynomax bullet dumped before my axle, also an intake. it is LOUD, very loud. i can't wait for headers though

its not obnoxiously loud, however since its dumped if im doin 60+mph its pretty loud resonating it he cab...80+mph forget it lol. once i get headers though it will be a diff story...unless i hold out for a custom turbo setup. love having friends that work for nascar and weld etc etc.

See, I just don't understand this. Everyone else who is running Bullets claim that they're's are loud-very loud. Mine are not. I got the 2.5"x12" long casings, duals, long tubes and an x-pipe. At WOT, they scream. But just driving, and cruising and highway speed, they are tame. They are no where near as loud as when I was running a single flowmaster 40 series muffler. I also have mine dumped before the axle. I am running cats however. Maybe this is the difference. Just about everyone who has seen my truck and hear it, asks are you sure those are bullets? WTF?

Oh, and mine have virtually no resonance whatsoever. I love the sound, just wish they were louder. Of course I have never heard anyone else's truck with the bullets, so I don't know if they are normal and I just like them exceptionally loud or what. Maybe all you guys who claim they are loud just have different tastes than me?

I had a SI/DO flowmaster on my 03 and I put a 12" bullet on my 05 shortly after I got it. The dynomax was louder and had more resonance. I got tired of it after a few months so now I have a 5x8x18 3"SI/SO Magnaflow. Now, you can't hear me coming home from a block or two away.

EDIT: All these were/are dumped, of course.

having the cats still on your truck has a lot to do with it.

I have an 18 in bullet dumped before the axle on my 5.3L. It's loud, but not at all obnoxious. I can't compare it to a flowmaster per say, but my friend runs dual 40 series on his Mustang GT, and my truck is louder than his car

I just installed a 12" bullet on my truck with no cats, 3" pipe dumped before the axle. It is definatly loud. My setup is on an cammed LS1, and it is really raspy between 2200-3000 rpms. At all other rpm's it sounds as good as sex

I had a 12" on my old 95, headers, no cats, it was unbearably loud. I got a headache after 30 minutes. Also no backpressure = crappy low end

I have the stock cats, so i'm hoping that will help with the raspyness sound, perhaps jumping to the 18" case will solve that to.
