Default DYNO results + Cam?

Hi all today i went to a local speed shop with my 2012 chev 1500 6.2 Stock did a few chassis dyno pulls, stock averaged 343tq 328HP. I had purchased a Hypertech max programmer awhile back so i installed the premium tune and averaged 355tq 341hp. at a 12.6 to 13.0 AFR at WOT. Then i let the shop do a custom tune and they got around the same tq and +1-2 more hp. i figured they could get more the only difference was there tune had no kr where the hypertech had a few spots where i was seeing 4-6 deg kr at certain spots. Let me know what you guys think?

My 2nd ? is i have a 98 s10 with a 00 truck 5.3 installed with 4L60E with 3.73 gears and a TB converter. I asked them about a cam rec and they suggested a custom grind with 230/224 duration 590/540 lift on a 114 lsa. reverse grind PEP dual valve sprins PSK-658-8-7 and 7.400 pushrods. can someone explain to me why they would suggest this. the truck is a daily driver and weekend drag truck and addition info would be great thanks. i would be dyno tuning for the cam install aswell any ideas on how much increase this would give me i have never dynoed the truck just basic tuning on hp tuners best time at track was 14.1 with slicks time was ran with stock TMBX truck stall thanks all!!

Hmm, so they couldn't out perform the hypertech. And then they recommend a large, reverse split cam for a 5.3 with stock heads.

I suggest finding a new speed shop.

I recommend a tsp220 it's a proven cam if u want something mild ... But u want. A Lott more bump a 226/226 on a 112 would b perfect

That would be a good choice.

I would be cautious of that tuner, if they could barely top a hypertech and suggested that cam...... No thanks.

I would go with the 220 so you don't give up too much down low, the 220 has proven to be a good cam in a 5.3
